"Nature is not a place to visit. Nature is home"
The Full Story
What started as a simple vision to grow the food we eat quickly turned into something much bigger. We thought farming was just about growing food—wrong! Soon, we realized that healthy food can only come from healthy soil. That made us rethink the choices we make every day—the plastic we use, the chemicals we avoid, and the waste we refuse to let touch our land.

And slowly, the farm became more than just a place to grow food. It became a sanctuary—for the soil, the rescued animals, the wildlife, and for us.

At The Lilac Farm, we are deeply committed to sustainability and a plant-based lifestyle. Our journey began as a mother-daughter duo, transforming a former barren land into a sanctuary that now promotes seasonal, native food and healthy living.

Our 13-acre farm, located near Somashettihalli in Bengaluru, offers a serene escape from city life. Our farmstay is powered entirely by clean energy and operates on a zero-waste model. We aim to provide guests with a unique and mindful experience away from the city, promoting natural farming, seasonal native foods, and sustainable living.

We offer a variety of services and retreats, including health retreats, yoga retreats, corporate outings, and school outings. These activities are designed to bring people closer to nature and provide a deeper understanding of sustainable living.
Our mission is to create a cruelty-free and conscious world, and we're excited to share this journey with you. Whether you're looking to reconnect with nature, learn about sustainable farming, or simply relax in a peaceful environment, The Lilac Farm welcomes you.

Water Harvesting

Locally Grown

Consciously Reused
With seven rainwater harvesting pits, we make the most of every drop nature provides. We use borewell water responsibly, ensuring sustainability and balance—never taking our resources for granted.

Rural Opportunities
We believe in creating fair opportunities for the villagers who are an integral part of our farm. By working alongside them, we provide meaningful livelihoods while reviving ancestral wisdom through natural farming—honoring tradition, sustainability, and the rhythm of the land.
We take pride in using locally sourced, foraged, and wild ingredients, bringing the freshest flavors to your plate. Every meal is a reflection of the land—pure, simple, and nourishing, just like eating at your grandmother’s home.

Rooted in Ancestral Knowledge
We strive to reintroduce ancestral knowledge and ways of life, embracing the wisdom of those who lived in harmony with nature. From traditional farming and foraging to mindful living, we honor time-tested practices that nurture both the land and the soul.
Sustainability is at the heart of our farmstay. From tile roofing and wooden doors to flooring and furniture, most of our materials are consciously reclaimed and repurposed, preserving their charm while minimizing waste.

Wood-Fired Energy
We use locally sourced firewood for cooking and heating water, staying true to traditional practices. Unlike commercial fuels, it doesn’t travel far, reducing our carbon footprint while adding rich, earthy flavors to our meals. Simple, efficient, and in harmony with the land.
